Why foiled packaging still recycles
A hot stamping foil is a multi-layer transfer built on a PET carrier: release wax, lacquer, a vacuum-metallised aluminium or pigment layer, and a heat-activated adhesive. Only the layers below the release wax transfer to the substrate — a total of 0.5–1.5 µm. Because that film sits on top of the fibre rather than inside it, repulping separates it mechanically instead of chemically. Repulping
