How does hot foil stamping work, step by step?

Design + die-making
Vector artwork is engraved into a brass or magnesium die. Brass holds detail longer (up to 1 million impressions); magnesium is cheaper for short runs.

Die is mounted on the heated head and brought to 100–160 °C. Foil is fed from the supply reel across the substrate path.
