Reverse bend matrix for folds that must close against the printed side without cracking the coating.

    Key Features

    • Inverted counter profile — scores fold toward the printed face
    • Prevents coating crack on reverse-tuck and auto-bottom folds
    • Channel widths and heights matched to board calliper
    • Self-adhesive base, fits standard 23.8 mm rule formes
    • Available in PVC, resin and fibre bodies
    • Supplied with a reverse bend sizing chart

    Overview

A normal crease folds away from the printed face. Some cartons — auto-bottom flaps, lock tabs, reverse-tuck panels — have to fold the other way, and forcing them over a standard channel cracks the coating along the score.

    How the profile works

The AP-RB matrix inverts the geometry: the raised shoulder pushes the fibre up from the reverse side so the score forms on the correct face. Board calliper still sets the channel dimensions, and the sizing diagram shows the width and height calculation for both solid board and corrugated.

    Fitting it on the forme

Fit reverse bend matrix only on the reverse-fold scores and keep standard PVC matrix on the rest of the forme. On heavy stock, pair it with a firmer ejection wave sponge so the blank clears the rule cleanly.
