Overview
Creasing matrix is the counter-channel that turns a creasing rule into a controlled fold. The AP-PM series uses a rigid PVC channel bonded to a film base with a high-tack self-adhesive backing, so it locks onto the cutting plate on the first impression and stays in register for the whole run.
Five base profiles for five jobs
Standard base (9 mm) covers folding boxboard through to light corrugated. Narrow base is for short distances between cutting and creasing rule — glue flaps, window cut-outs and multi-crease presentation folders. Wider base (20 mm) increases contact area on corrugated so the matrix cannot shift, which reduces cracking and paper jams. Off-centre profiles handle double creases with a small centre-to-centre distance, and the chamfered-shoulder version avoids jams on the narrow side. Double-crease matrix puts two channels on one metal base for 200–300 gsm stock.
Choosing the channel size
For solid board: channel width = 1.5 × board calliper + creasing rule thickness; channel height ≈ board calliper. For corrugated, add flute allowance and move to the 20 mm wider base. Send us the board grade and the rule height used on your flatbed die-cutter and we ship the matching profile with a fitting chart. Match the channel to the creasing rule on your steel rule forme.
