Overview
Ejection sponge sits beside the cutting rule and returns the blank after every impression. Too soft and the sheet lifts with the rule; too hard and the printed edge is crushed. The AP-WS series is colour-coded by hardness so a make-ready is repeatable — the operator matches a colour, not a guess.
Hardness by application
35°–40° (white, blue) for light board and delicate printed surfaces. 45°–50° (orange, green) is the general folding-carton working range. 55°–65° (dark green) for heavy board, corrugated and long straight cuts where the sponge must not fatigue. Mix grades on one forme: soft on fine detail, firm along long rules.
Formats
Supplied as 380 L × 300 W mm sheets in 8, 9, 10 and 12 mm heights, cut to shape with a knife or sponge cutter. For waste channels too narrow for a sheet-cut piece, use the seam sponge strip; for anti-back-pressure and corrugated protection, see the rubber strip range.
