    Fluorescent foil gets its colour from pigment chemistry: the lacquer absorbs UV/short-wavelength light and re-emits it as a saturated neon shade. Holographic foil gets its rainbow effect from physics: a nanoscale diffraction grating embossed into the aluminium splits white light into a spectrum. Fluorescent = one bright neon colour, optionally glowing under UV. Holographic = shifting rainbow under any light source.     Fluorescent foil runs on any hot stamping press at 110–140 °C with 0.3–0.8 s dwell — 10–15 °C lower than standard pigment foils because fluorescent pigments degrade above 150 °C and lose UV reactivity. Use a magnesium or brass die, 60–80 Shore A make-ready, and matt-coated or uncoated stocks for the most vivid daylight pop.     Lightfastness depends on grade. Standard fluorescent pigments rate 4–5 on the Blue Wool Scale — suitable for indoor packaging with a 12–24 month shelf life. Outdoor or window-display applications need our Premium Lightfast grade (BWS 6–7, 3–5 year outdoor life) which uses encapsulated fluorescent pigments.
