Self adhesive label material — also called pressure-sensitive label stock or PSA — is a three-layer laminate of facestock, adhesive and release liner. The right combination is different for a chilled beverage bottle, a logistics shipping label and a chemical drum. Q01What is self-adhesive label material made of?+
Three layers: a facestock (paper or film that gets printed), a pressure-sensitive adhesive (acrylic or rubber-based), and a release liner (glassine or PET) that protects the adhesive until application. Choosing the right combination of these three layers is what makes a label fit-for-purpose.
Q02What's the difference between permanent and removable adhesive?+
Permanent acrylic creates a bond that cannot be cleanly removed after 24h cure — used for ~85% of all labels. Removable acrylic peels cleanly without residue for 6–12 months — used for promotional offers, returnable packaging, and electronics labels. Wash-off adhesives release in alkaline bottle-washing for returnable glass bottles.
Q03Which facestock should I choose: paper or film?+
Coated paper is cheaper (USD 0.30–0.80 / m²) and prints well — choose for indoor short-life applications. BOPP/PP film is tear-resistant, moisture-resistant and looks premium — required for beverage, cosmetics, frozen food and any outdoor exposure. PET film is dimensionally stable for durables and electronics. We carry all three.
Q04What roll sizes and core sizes do you supply?+
Standard rolls are 1000–2000 m on 76 mm (3-inch) cores. Narrow-web converting rolls are slit to your exact width (50–520 mm) with ±0.2 mm tolerance. Sheet format also available (A3, A4, B2, B1) for digital and small-format presses.
Q05What's the MOQ for label material orders?+
Sample / trial orders start at 500 m² per SKU. Bulk orders begin at 10,000 m². Stock SKUs (white semi-gloss, clear BOPP, thermal transfer) ship within 3–5 days from our warehouse; custom-coated facestocks take 20–30 days production lead.
Q06Is your label material FSC certified and food-safe?+
Yes — paper-faced materials are FSC Mix Credit certified. Adhesive coatings meet FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (indirect food contact), EU 10/2011 and Swiss Ordinance. Direct food-contact wet-strength grades available on request with full migration testing.
